Nice of you all to welcome me. :) It will probably take some time for me to learn all of the tricks to make entries and make them look decent but at least I will be learning in good company. Good to see some familiar names!

Adding your surname.

Hey Becky, To add your surname to the surname list, create the new page for Carpenter and then in that page at the bottom enter {{surname}}. Hope this helps. --jon.jaques 06:56, 14 August 2007 (PDT)

I was trying to figure out how to create the new page I think. It is a bit more complicated than editing the glossary, for example where you just can click on edit and go into the text and start typing. I am unfamiliar with the "code" used on these pages but I can usually "get" new things eventually. I will keep messing with it until I can make something happen. Thank you for your suggestion. I do appreciate it, just don't know hwo to use the info yet.
To create a new page you can either link to it and click on that link you have created (provided that it doesn't already exist) or you can type the name of the page into the search box and it will present you with the option to create it (again provided it doesn't already exist. Also, its good form on wikis to sign your talk page posts so people know who wrote them, you can do this by typing in the code --~~~~ or just hitting the second button from the right above the editing text box. Any other questions just ask, I just started using wikis about a week ago, so I know how it feels. --jon.jaques 07:41, 14 August 2007 (PDT)

That is encouraging! I will work on figuring it all out later on or tomorrow. I need to get up and stretch for a bit (maybe even do a little housework). :)now lets see... --funnifood 07:45, 14 August 2007 (PDT)
