About Me
Ashley Wilson, an Information Technology Enthusiast from Kerala State of India. Being a Keralite, my mother-tongue is Malayalam. I also speak/read/write Hindi, our national language, and English.
I was born and brought up in Muvattupuzha in Ernakulam district of Kerala.

Me and Geni
I have a blog entry about my encounter with this really helpful (not to mention FREE) service.
To date (02:17, 9 August 2007 (PDT)), I have more than 650 relatives in my tree; more than 575 of this were added by myself, about 500 within the first 3 days :D.
Barriers to using Geni in our Culture
Even though the total number of relatives in my tree is that much, only a handful of people have created profiles or added details, as most of my relatives don't even know how to use a computer. This is primarily because of the language barrier; English is considered the language of the 'hi-tech' :p, even though most of them use English words in sentences during casual talks. Most people using internet here are either students of programming-related courses or their parents, professionals working in computer industry, or people who use computers regularly at work.
