How is a person related to you?
For example, John Smith (your father) → Linda Smith (his mother) → James Jones (his father) → Ronald Jones (his brother) → Tina Jones (his wife).
Relationship descriptions on Geni are shown for relatives within your Family's Family (8th great grandfather or closer) if you navigate to a profile through search, via your Tree, etc. We now show the relationship to an user you may view from your List to make it easier to identify and determine the different profiles in the Tree.
You may also use the green Push Pin located in the upper, right-hand corner of the Relationship Path bar to display relationships relative to the current profile instead of yourself.
Pro members may use the 'How are You Related' button at the top of the page to calculate the relationship path to another user. You no longer have to wait while we are searching for a path; even if you navigate away from the page we'll alert you when the path is found. We've also expanded the paths so you can find your relationship to more distant relatives.
