If you want to add a new heritage to the surnames, you must create a category as well as a template. Examples: Template:French and Category:French Surnames --jon.jaques 05:51, 9 August 2007 (PDT)

Becky, just to address what you mentioned and then removed, as far as I understand, Native American's do not enjoy being referred to as Indians or American Indians, but would prefer Native American as a general term. When I set this up I assumed that Native Americans would prefer to go by their tribes (Algonquin, Ojibwa, Metis, etc.). Any input is appreciated. --jon.jaques 05:44, 14 August 2007 (PDT)

Sorry- I have this annoying Search bar right in the middle of my page and it is making a lot of things difficult to navigate. Must be some kind of a glitch. I agree that Native Americans or tribe names are better but there are a lot of people who refer to their "Indian" ancestors or "Indian" tribes whether or not it is politically correct. I am only suggesting that there needs to be clarification on the entry called "Indian" that it is for people with ancestry from India. You are obviously much more advanced at this editing and setting up business than I but I am going to try to learn. Perhaps in the meantime, it would be best for me not to try to mess around in your codes to much. I don't want to make a mess of things. I am content to make suggestions and let the code wizards figure out how (or if) to implement them. Thanks! :)

Why are not these auto generated from GENI?

Lack of knowledge on how to extract surnames from Geni's database, and the wiki is very low priority for Team Members, if you know how, it would be a big help. --jon.jaquesTALK GENI 15:54, 6 February 2008 (PST)
